About the Role:
As a Women's Health Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality medical care to patients with gynecological concerns. Your day will begin with completing tasks related to patient files, daily orders, and investigations in the In-Patient Department (IPD) and Operating Theater (OT).- Start the Out-Patient Department (OPD), where you'll consult and counsel patients on their gynecological concerns.
- Perform intrauterine insemination (IUI), sonography, and other necessary procedures.
- Prescribe medications and requisition items as needed.
You'll take rounds with the Assistant Doctor and sisters in the morning and evening to ensure patient files are complete, daily orders are checked, and investigations are conducted.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you'll also:
- Advise patients on necessary investigations and inform them of test results.
- Address patient complaints and take corrective actions.
- Conduct operative procedures such as OPU (oocyte pick-up), ET (embryo transfer), and Hysteroscopy.
- Ensure pre-operative preparation is done by OT sisters according to the Pre-Op Checklist.
Your role will also involve washing up, assisting, or conducting OT procedures, ensuring anesthesia notes are entered, writing down OT notes, and giving post-operative orders to assistant doctors.
You'll take post-op rounds immediately after shifting patients, ensure that IPD sisters follow post-op orders, and provide post-op counseling to patient relatives.
Additionally, you'll ensure software entries for recording post-op findings by sisters and assistant doctors, decide on discharges, and prepare discharge papers. You'll also attend to emergency situations, seek help from senior gynecologists when needed, and participate in camps and outreach OPDs.
