Job Title: Higher Education Specialist

About the Role:

This is a key leadership position responsible for driving thought leadership and policy advocacy in higher education. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to identify areas for strategic engagement, develop reports and recommendations, and build partnerships with universities, organizations, and other key players in the sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement thought leadership strategies in collaboration with senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Interface regularly with regulatory bodies, government ministries, and other external partners to stay informed about key policy developments and sector trends
  • Build and maintain relationships with key university leaders, multilateral and bilateral organizations, and other influential stakeholders in higher education
  • Conduct committee meetings, develop agendas, prepare minutes, and identify task forces to address specific sectoral issues
  • Organize and manage the annual global FICCI Higher Education Summit, design conference programs, and identify national and international partners
  • Manage masterclasses, workshops, webinars on important topics, engage Committee leadership and senior government functionaries, and develop partnerships with external partners
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive understanding of the higher education landscape, ability to interface with stakeholders at mid/senior level, primary and secondary research skills, project management, excellent presentation skills, MS office suite proficiency, and knowledge of FORMS and TEAMS
  • 4-12 years of relevant experience, prior experience working in education or other social sectors
