Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Linux/Unix System Administrator to join our team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

">Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: Must be a graduate.
  • Experience: Should have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience as a Linux/Unix System Administrator.
  • Expertise: Should have expertise on at least 2 flavors of Unix. Linux is a must.
  • Understanding: Should have a deep level of understanding of Linux OS & should be able to handle day to day admin tasks.
  • Shell Scripting: Should be well versed with shell scripting.
  • Troubleshooting: Should have excellent troubleshooting skills to fix system down issues.
  • Critical Issues: Should be able to handle critical & high severity technical bridges.
  • Puppet/Ansible: Puppet/Ansible knowledge would be an added advantage.
  • Clustering: Should have knowledge on clustering.
  • Server Administration: Should be able to build Linux servers as well as perform OS upgrades.
  • Hardware Knowledge: Knowledge of different hardware architecture, roadmap, and implementation.
  • Capacity Management: Should be well versed on capacity & configuration management analysis of the servers.
  • ITIL: Should be well versed with ITIL.
  • Incident Resolution: Performs incident resolution, problem determination and root cause analysis in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
  • Communication Skills: Should have excellent written & oral communication skills.
  • Learning Ability: Must be keen to learn new development methods and technologies and be a fast learner.
  • Teamwork: Be enthusiastic about work and be a good team player.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintain the positive attitude, be honest and sincere in work.
  • Virtualization: Knowledge on virtualization.
  • Edge Technologies: Knowledge of handling any of the new edge technologies like OpenStack, OpenShift, Docker, AWS or Azure cloud would be preferred.
  • Problem Management: Perform root cause analysis on the repeated problematic servers through problem management process.
  • Automation: Experience on Automation would be preferred.
  • Data Center Migration: Hands on experience on data center, DR & server migrations are a must.
  • Team Handling: Experience on team handling would be an added advantage.
  • Process Development: Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure that meet the client's expectations and deliver quality services within specified service level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations.
  • Escalation Coordination: Coordinate escalations and collaborate with internal technology teams, leadership, and clients to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Technical Improvements: Propose possible process and technical improvements to management.
  • Emerging Technologies: Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure technical solutions are compatible with the business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Service Improvement: Assumes responsibility to improve service, efficiency, and quality of work.
  • Business Innovation: Develop innovative and creative output based on interpretation and analysis that improves business performance and contributes to corporate goals and strategic intent.
