Job Title: Agricultural Risk Management Professional

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Agricultural Risk Management Professional. This is a challenging role that requires a deep understanding of agriculture production, climate risks, and farm operations.

  • Evaluate and assess risks associated with agriculture-related insurance applications using historical data, climate forecasts, farm management practices, and geographic factors.
  • Analyze and interpret data from various sources, including GIS, weather data, and crop yield reports to inform underwriting decisions.
  • Design and recommend appropriate coverage levels and policy terms based on risk assessments and market conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with loss control teams to assess and mitigate potential losses by identifying areas of improvement and implementing strategies to reduce risk.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, agents, and brokers to explain underwriting decisions and provide policy guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and company policies, adhering to local, regional, and national agricultural insurance regulations.
  • Prioritize collaboration with actuaries to develop pricing models for agriculture insurance products and work with claims teams to assess and manage loss events.
  • Deliver detailed reports on underwriting activities, including risk assessments, policy performance, and market trends.

Requirements:

  • Proven understanding of agriculture production, climate risks, and farm operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agricultural insurance products, including crop, livestock, and farm insurance.
  • Familiarity with underwriting software and tools, including risk modelling and GIS systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-experts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in insurance underwriting (e.g., CPCU, ARM).
  • Experience working with agriculture insurance policies specific to regional crop and livestock markets.
  • Awareness of climate change impacts on agriculture and familiarity with sustainable farming practices.
