Our company is seeking a skilled Cockpit Interior Design Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in design, development, and integration of interior trims and cockpit consoles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the engineering sub-systems and ensuring delivery of all aspects of defined components/systems within the Cockpit Console commodities and Interior Trims.

The role requires strong project management skills, with proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering and significant experience in the use of engineering tools such as FMEA, Agile or Scrum.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication.

You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the teamwork plan aligned to vehicle program, ensuring regulatory compliance, and defining appropriate engineering targets to meet function, quality, and attribute requirements.

About the Role:

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Establish and maintain the teamwork plan aligned to vehicle program.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of system, sub-system, and components.
  • Define appropriate engineering targets to meet function, quality, and attribute requirements.
  • Develop and maintain the design validation plan (DVP) including both in-house and supplier testing plan.
  • Develop System Design Specifications incorporating engineering standards, test procedures, and material specifications.
  • Lead Failure Mode Avoidance activities including DFMEA, quality history reviews, and DFA/D FM reviews.
  • Lead the resolution of design, attribute, or packaging incompatibilities through the appropriate cross-functional meetings.
  • Manage Supplier(s) to ensure system/component delivery to vehicle program timing and attribute targets.
  • Support Purchasing team in Sourcing and RFQ activities including the creation of ESOWs, CAD SOWs, PDSs, and ESIs.
  • Support vehicles launch and pre-production builds (both virtual and physical).
