The Legal Officer is a key professional responsible for ensuring the institution's legal integrity by handling disputes, coordinating with external legal advisors, and contributing to policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and accurate legal advice on various matters to senior administrators and ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

Contract and Document Management:

  • Draft, review, and vet legal documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and standard agreements with external parties.

Litigation Management:

  • Coordinate with internal and external legal advisors and standing counsels on court matters, preparing responses to grievances and attending court when necessary.

Policy Development:

  • Monitor and manage internal legal processes, update existing policies, and help formulate and implement new ones.

Grievance and Dispute Resolution:

  • Serve as a member secretary for committees, such as the Committee Against Sexual Harassment, and handle internal disputes from a legal perspective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in law (LLB or LLM) from a recognized institution with Bar Council of India registration.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of six years of experience as an advocate or working in a legal department, preferably in the education sector, demonstrating hands-on application of legal knowledge.
  • Possess strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills, along with excellent oral and written communication abilities. Knowledge of Telugu is essential.
