We are seeking a senior electronics expert to join our team as a Staff Engineer.

About the Role:

The Staff Engineer will define specifications and requirements for product hardware, conduct reviews of hardware design and firmware control with a focus on system integration, and monitor development to verify compliance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Define product hardware specifications and requirements.
  2. Conduct in-depth reviews of hardware design and firmware control with a focus on high-level system integration.
  3. Monitor development progress and create test plans to ensure electrical, environmental, and functional compliance.
  4. Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to evaluate reliability and address safety and liability concerns.
  5. Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to coordinate product development milestones.
  6. Oversight of Design for Excellence (DFX) updates, Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and product life cycle management.
  7. Mentor junior engineers on design principles to adhere to established technical standards during product development.
  8. Stay up-to-date with new development concepts to inform future innovation.
  9. Identify cost-competitive technological alternatives suitable for scaling up.
  10. Validate design concepts through circuit simulations and prototyping.
  11. Prepare detailed documentation, including bills of materials, circuit diagrams, simulations, and design-related documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. A Master's degree in Power Electronics or a related field, with 8-12 years of experience.
  2. A strong understanding of closed-loop control for power converters and compensator design.
  3. Experience working with high-speed or high-power semiconductor devices, specifically power converter designs over 100kVA and in medium voltage applications.
  4. Solid technical knowledge, competence, and system-level design experience.
  5. A proven track record of managing multiple power electronics projects involving analog and digital electronics and control circuitry.
  6. Experience in EMI filter design and product qualification/compliance testing.
  7. Familiarity with circuit simulation tools like SIMULINK.
  8. Skills in derating, FMEA, and reliability analysis.
  9. Excellent circuit debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
  10. Experience writing technical documents such as hardware requirements, product design specifications, test specifications, and board-level design details.
  11. Strong knowledge of component selection and system integration.
  12. Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  13. Experience mentoring small teams with strong decision-making capabilities and agile product development model expertise.
