Job Title:

Production Operations Manager

A key role exists for a seasoned Production Operations Manager to oversee daily manufacturing activities, driving efficiency and productivity while ensuring high-quality production outcomes. This vital position entails leading a team of fabricators and welders in the fabrication department to meet or exceed production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Planning and Execution:
  • Oversee daily operations to achieve set production goals.
  • Optimize workflow by allocating tasks effectively and ensuring all necessary resources are available.
  • Maintain open communication with other departments to ensure seamless production.
  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all fabricated components adhere to rigorous quality standards and design specifications.
  • Regularly inspect products and implement corrective actions when issues arise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead a skilled team of fabricators and welders, providing guidance and support for professional growth and development.
  • Develop training programs that align with industry best practices, emphasizing safety, quality, and process improvements.
  • Recognize and reward exceptional performance, fostering a positive work environment.
  1. Process Improvement and Innovation:
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization through data-driven analysis.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and visual management systems to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive innovation by encouraging employees to suggest improvements in welding, cutting, and assembly processes.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Compile and analyze production reports, highlighting trends, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of material usage, downtime logs, and equipment servicing history.
  • Present regular updates to senior leadership on production performance, progress, and strategic recommendations.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing, preferably as a team leader or supervisor.
  • Strong expertise in welding processes (MIG, TIG, Arc), CNC cutting, and bending.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems.
