Power Electronics Development Engineer

This position enables collaboration with advanced technology teams to deliver cutting-edge power solutions. The successful candidate will partner closely with engineers across various disciplines to ensure power solutions meet customer requirements while being technically and cost-optimized.

  • Design and develop validation boards, schematics, and layouts matching customer use cases and applications.
  • Build, design, and document comprehensive validation plans requiring a detailed understanding of devices and system environments.
  • Define validation strategies in terms of hardware, software, and instrumentation.
  • Develop and implement validation test cases using programming languages like Python or LabView.
  • Perform system-level and parametric tests on the bench with a strong focus on problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with design and firmware teams to support customer needs and implement custom features in firmware.
  • Debug device and setup-related issues independently.
  • Engage with customers and application engineers to understand device issues, resolve problems, and provide modifications as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in validation engineering of analog products.
  • Demonstrated hardware debugging skills.
  • Excellent time management, strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in simulating and designing inverters and/or DCDC converters.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor power switches like MOSFET, IGBT, and SiC MOSFET.
  • Expertise in tools such as Simplis, Matlab, Altium, PSPICE, LabView, and Python.
  • Schematic and PCB layout design in Altium.
  • Physical layout management, signal grounding, and routing tradeoffs, optimization.
  • Ability to budget time, manage schedules, and complete complex tasks on time.
  • Depth of experience and meticulous approach to ensure high-quality results.
  • Ability to account for limitations of system-level specifications, testability, and debug.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to foster a productive working environment.
