About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Product Design Lead to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the development of new products from concept to production. Your expertise in design process, system integration, and technical leadership will be instrumental in driving our company's success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive design plans, ensuring timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Leverage your experience in NPD systems, Cost out process VAVE process, and project execution to drive efficiency and effectiveness in product development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and sales, to ensure alignment and seamless communication throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, providing guidance on design principles, best practices, and technical skills.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to enhance product designs and improve overall performance.
  • Participate in value engineering projects to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Develop detailed timing plans for components and systems, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing delays.
  • Review and approve design proposals, ensuring they meet project requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Solve complex technical problems, providing creative solutions that balance functionality, cost, and aesthetics.
  • As a project lead, coordinate with vendors, purchasing, and other departments to ensure successful project execution.
  • Contribute to product development by analyzing requirements, benchmarking, finalizing specifications, and verifying product performance through DVPSOR.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in CAD tools, such as CREO, and CAE software for FEA, CFD, thermal, vibration, and critical speed analysis.
  • Manage Bill of Materials, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Promote a positive team culture, fostering open communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among team members.

Qualifications

Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product design, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to motivate and guide team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, CAE software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working in industries like Steel, Construction equipment, Heavy machinery, and Production engineering.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems.
  • Certifications in design, engineering, or related fields.

Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
