  • Staff Software Engineer - Team Lead Position
Job Description

You will lead the design and development of major functional changes to existing software systems, or new ones. Your decisions on when to build new and extend existing are informed by your subject matter expertise.

As a team leader, you will drive best practices and set standards for your team. You can propose and create best practices proactively where none exists.

You are responsible for writing high-quality, maintainable, and robust code. Your experience in multiple languages enables you to learn new languages and frameworks as needed.

Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms design, and their application is essential. You can evaluate run-time performance and understand how to trade off performance using various approaches.

As an advisor, you provide guidance through code reviews, design reviews, and feedback on operational excellence. You are comfortable receiving feedback and using it to grow as an engineer.

Key influencer in your team's strategy, you contribute significantly to team planning. Good judgment is required in making trade-offs between immediate and long-term business needs.

A collaborative leader, you make other engineers and team members more productive by sharing knowledge and helping with key technical decisions. You provide mentoring to other engineers, and your success is measured by both your productivity and positive impact on others.

You can troubleshoot production issues by reviewing source code, logs, operational metrics, stack traces, etc., to pinpoint problems and resolve them. Identifying root causes and learning from them improves both development processes and system design.
