Job Title: Operational Risk Manager Lead

The role of the Operational Risk Manager Lead is to oversee and manage independent projects across operational risk management areas, including internal control assessments, developing SOPs and policies, third-party risk management, incident management, and business continuity for financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement project plans to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results
  2. Review, verify, and validate existing frameworks, policies, procedures, and risk and control matrices for theoretical soundness, testing design, and identification of control weaknesses
  3. Identify changes to the risk profile and consider its impact on the heat map for risk rating
  4. Meet business needs and regulatory expectations for assessing key aspects of each area under review
  5. Demonstrate independence in planning and stakeholder engagement, testing design and execution, results interpretation, and presentation
  6. Proactive engagements with client process owners and risk departments to ensure timely completion and finalization of projects
  7. Provide regular updates on project execution and quality reviews
  8. Identify and emphasize findings that warrant discussions with Risk Management Committees
  9. Develop and present risk dashboards and risk analytics on key items
  10. Work with a broad group of stakeholders from every part of the firm to investigate operational risk and governance standards and undertake detailed risk and control self-assessment (RCSA)
  11. Establish and link KRI monitoring to loss data and incident reporting workflows
  12. Responsible for preparation of proposals, pitch decks, presenting in client meetings, and thought leadership documents across various ORM-related areas
  13. Lead and be responsible for team building, mentoring, and project management

Requirements:

  • 9-12 years of experience in operational risk management
  • CA, ACCA, MBA, or any other relevant master's program
  • Project Management and ORM certifications
  • Experience in GRC tools such as MetricStream, SAP GRC, etc.
  • Deep understanding of global and Indian frameworks, methodologies, and standards on process risk and controls
  • Very strong understanding of financial services industry, businesses, regulators, and their roles
  • Excellent MS-Excel, Word, and PPT skills
  • Ability to write and speak fluently in English
