The Role

We are seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and implementing Individualised Education Plans (IEPs), providing instructional support tailored to students' unique needs, maintaining thorough documentation and reporting, managing student behaviour effectively, and adapting curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.

The successful candidate will work closely with our team of special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support integrated student development. They will also be responsible for assessing students' speech, language, and communication abilities, monitoring and documenting progress, and adapting therapy plans as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Planning: Assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities using standardised tests and informal evaluations.
  • Individualised Therapy Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's specific needs and goals.
  • Speech Therapy Sessions: Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions to improve articulation, fluency, language comprehension, and expressive communication.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with special education teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to support integrated student development.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document students' progress and adapt therapy plans as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
  • Certification/License: Valid certification or license to practice as a Speech Therapist (as per local/state regulations).
  • Experience: 3 to 7 years working with children and adults with multiple disabilities.
  • Bilingualism: Proficient in English and Tamil.
  • Familiarity with Assistive Technology: Familiarity with assistive technology and specialised instructional strategies.
