Content Strategist

This role involves developing and implementing content strategies to create cohesive written projects.

  • Collect, evaluate and utilize data from multiple sources to inform content creation.
  • Plan, write, edit and review publications for accuracy and clarity.
  • Conduct effective kick-off meetings to ensure alignment among authoring teams.
  • Develop scientific-based rationales to support complex document purposes.
  • Present data in a clear, concise and accurate manner.
  • Ensure consistency across related documents and statements.
  • Collate reviewer comments, adjust content as needed and prepare final versions.
  • Coordinate quality checks for accuracy.
  • Exhibit flexibility in moving across development and preparation of multiple document types.
  • Influence or negotiate changes with other team members.
  • Advocate for authorship criteria on applicable work products.
  • Work with internal and external speakers to develop presentations.

Project Management

  • Lead the writing process, applying effective project management skills to ensure timely completion of high-quality publication deliverables.
  • Build and communicate credible writing project timelines.
  • Anticipate and mitigate risks to delivery.
  • Collaborate with teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth document development and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Effectively communicate project status to stakeholders.

Knowledge Development

  • Maintain and enhance therapeutic area knowledge, including disease state and compounds for assigned projects.
  • Enhance scientific communication skills to align with audience needs and digital evolution.
  • Exhibit flexibility in moving across document types, therapeutic areas and compounds depending on project assignment.
  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of publication guidelines.
  • Develop an overarching view of compounds, therapeutic areas and external environments to participate effectively in publication planning and reviews.

Knowledge Sharing

  • Provide coaching to others by sharing technical information, giving guidance and answering questions.
  • Recognized for technical expertise in specific document development.
  • Network with others to identify and share best practices.
  • Contribute to process improvements, suggesting opportunities where appropriate.
  • Provide database and tool expertise.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a scientific field.
  • Experience writing scientific publications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of a writing exercise.

Additional Preferences:

  • Advanced degree in science, health-related fields or other disciplines.
  • Desirable: Health communications, health outcomes, health economics and public health expertise.
  • Demonstrated mastery of verbal and written English skills in medical, scientific and technical writing fields.
  • Previous training and experience in disseminating results in clinical, health economics and health outcomes.
  • Relevant experience in clinical development, clinical trial process, health-outcomes research or regulatory activities.
  • Clinical pharmacology, therapeutic area or other medical and scientific specific knowledge and experience.
  • Project management and time management skills.
  • High-level end-user computer skills.
  • Extensive experience in writing, reviewing and publishing scientific materials.
