Job Title: Data Pipeline Quality Assurance Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our data pipeline quality assurance efforts. As a Data Pipeline Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing manual and automated tests for our data pipelines and ETL processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and Execute Tests: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity throughout our data pipelines.
  2. Data Validation: Perform thorough data validation across all layers of the pipeline (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to identify and resolve any issues promptly.
  3. Collaboration and Test Planning: Collaborate with data engineers and developers to understand pipeline architecture and contribute to test planning, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with project goals.
  4. Performance Testing: Conduct performance testing to identify bottlenecks in the data pipeline and implement optimizations to improve overall efficiency.
  5. Test Results Analysis: Monitor and analyze test results, identify defects, and ensure timely issue resolution to maintain high-quality data delivery.
  6. Test Documentation: Develop and maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, plans, and bug reports, to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong QA Experience: Proven experience in QA/testing for data pipelines, ETL processes, and data validation, with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • SQL and Data Querying: Familiarity with SQL and experience in querying large datasets for validation purposes, with an emphasis on extracting insights and identifying patterns.
  • Data Warehousing and Cloud Platforms: Experience with data warehousing and cloud-based data platforms (preferably AWS), with knowledge of scalable architecture and best practices.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide clear, concise solutions to complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SQL Scripting and Apache Spark: Proficiency in SQL scripting and Apache Spark, with experience in automating tests and processing large datasets.
  • Python and Scripting Languages: Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for automating tests, with an understanding of programming principles and software development methodologies.
  • Agile Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, with experience in working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • CI/CD and Automation Tools: Experience with CI/CD and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git), with knowledge of workflow management and release cycles.
