Mortgage Origination Leadership Role

The Mortgage Origination Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of the mortgage origination process, encompassing post-closing review and correspondent experience in US Home Loan products. This position requires a strong understanding of the mortgage industry, including regulations and TRID guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise team members, ensuring their development through training, hiring, recruiting, and performance reviews.
  • Possess working knowledge and hands-on experience with RESPA/TRID review and other federal, state, and industry compliance requirements.
  • Interface professionally with title companies, clients, real estate agents, mortgage loan officers, and mortgage lenders to ensure successful closings.
  • Elevate service levels for customers by assisting in the application process, overseeing all mortgage loan closings, and completing all post-closing requirements efficiently.
  • Ensure future salability and quality control of residential mortgage loans and refinances by adhering to lender underwriting guidelines and federal and state regulations.
  • Develop high-quality coaching and training programs for new and existing staff.
  • Utilize quality assurance data to drive improvement in overall lender decision making.
  • Identify gaps in processes and document procedures for ongoing improvement.
  • Build a reporting suite that provides clear communication of performance to team members, peers, management, and executive leadership.
  • Monitor and oversee the loan production pipeline.
  • Ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department are met.
  • Prepare and deliver action plans or correction actions when individual metrics are not met.
  • Ensure ongoing and complete communication of key initiatives, deliverables, and expectations across team members, peers, managers, and executive leadership.
  • Manage administrative tasks of the department, including timecards, schedules, vacations, and performance reviews.
  • Continually review processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify strategic and technology improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 72-84 months of mortgage origination experience, including post-closing review and correspondent experience in US Home Loan products.
  • Working knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and TRID guidelines.
  • Management experience in human resources or operations management.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good supervision, organization, and math skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment skills essential for quick decision-making within written policy and standard operating procedures.
