Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our accounting team as a General Ledger (GL) Accountant. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Country Finance Manager in all key financial matters and ensuring timely closure of books.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who is passionate about finance and has a strong background in accounting principles and practices. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Month End Close: Responsible for ensuring that all month-end close activities are completed accurately and on time.
  • Journal Posting: Posts journal entries in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Rectification/Reclass Entries: Performs rectification and reclass entries as required.
  • Cost & Material Allocation: Allocates costs and materials in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Inventory Accounting: Manages inventory levels and performs cycle counts as required.
  • Intercompany Accounting: Handles intercompany transactions and ensures accuracy of intercompany accounts.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconciles bank statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Payroll Accounting: Processes payroll transactions and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • All Accruals & Prepaid Expense Booking & Tracking: Ensures all accruals and prepaid expenses are properly booked and tracked.
  • Fixed Asset Accounting: Manages fixed assets and performs depreciation calculations as required.
  • Collection Accounting: Handles collection activities and ensures accuracy of collections.
  • Vendor Reconciliation: Reconciles vendor statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Petty Cash Accounting: Manages petty cash funds and performs reconciliation as required.
  • Internal Management Reporting: Provides internal management with regular financial reports and analysis.
  • Adhoc Reporting: Prepares ad-hoc reports as required by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • M.Com / CA Inter: A degree in commerce or a related field, or equivalent qualification.
  • 4-5 years of experience: A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
  • Good knowledge of English: Excellent communication and language skills.
  • Leadership and Motivational Skills: Strong leadership and motivational skills to lead and manage teams.
  • Analytical and Reporting Skills: Excellent analytical and reporting skills to provide insightful financial information.
  • Collaboration Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Eye for Detail: Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
