Project Manager Role

This position oversees the management of IT projects, focusing on governance, framework implementation, and successful project execution.

The PMO Manager drives continuous improvement, plays a hands-on role in critical IT initiatives, and leads a team of project managers and coordinators.

  • Accountable for IT processes, including planning, portfolio governance, project methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Ensure project management standards and practices are implemented across the IT project portfolio.
  • Supervise and mentor the project management team, including performance reviews, career growth, and training.
  • Create and maintain staffing plans for internal and external resources, making recommendations regarding long-term contractors or full-time additions.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams through all project phases.
  • Implement effective project communication, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of project goals with business objectives and manage delivery on time and within budget.
  • Employ agile methodologies while operating within the organization's SDLC framework.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.

  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in project management of complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile, etc.).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior team leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of project managers and coordinators, driving continuous improvements and overseeing governance, framework implementation, and successful project execution.

Analyse project proposals, create and maintain staffing plans, and provide leadership and motivation to project teams.
