Financial Data Specialist

The role involves supporting financial reporting, analysis, and process improvements. It is a remote position that requires availability during Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reporting & Analysis: Developing recurring revenue and expense reports, preparing ad-hoc financial analysis for leadership, and partnering with cross-functional teams to design dashboards and data views.
  • Data Management & Accuracy: Extracting data from ERP, BI tools, and databases for reporting, reconciling data between systems, and ensuring accuracy of classifications and coding.
  • Process & Timeliness: Tracking and meeting recurring reporting deadlines, standardising reporting processes, and supporting month-end and quarter-end close with revenue and expense analysis.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: A strong foundation in financial reporting and analysis is required.
  • Independence and Autonomy: The ability to work independently on recurring reporting and ad-hoc requests.
  • FP&A or Revenue Accounting Experience: Exposure to FP&A or revenue accounting is preferred.

For more advanced roles, experience leading reporting process improvements and automation initiatives, strong SQL/database skills, and the ability to partner with leadership to provide strategic financial insights are required.

Experience Levels

There are two levels of experience for this role: Mid-Level Role and Senior Role.

  • Mid-Level Role (3+ Years' Experience): A strong foundation in financial reporting and analysis, independence and autonomy, and exposure to FP&A or revenue accounting are required.
  • Senior Role (5+ Years' Experience): Advanced expertise in FP&A, operational finance, or revenue accounting, experience leading reporting process improvements and automation initiatives, strong SQL/database skills, and the ability to partner with leadership to provide strategic financial insights are required.
