Job Opportunity: Product Design Expert
About the Role:We are seeking a skilled Product Design Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in product design, particularly in engine component design. They will be responsible for developing and supporting design processes, conducting cross-functional design reviews, and ensuring designs are suitable for manufacturing, service, and assembly.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and apply design processes such as Design Review, Virtual Review, and utilize tools like Creo, DFMEA, DVP&R, DFM, DFA, and tolerance stack-up.
- Conduct independent cross-functional design reviews and seek guidance from experts when needed.
- Perform 3D CAD modeling of major casting components and other engine parts, including plumbing, sheet metal brackets, etc.
- Create and validate 2D drawings with application of GD&T and ensure designs meet manufacturing, service, and assembly requirements.
- Develop engineering releases aligned with component requirements for each design phase.
- Support engine build activities by reviewing and validating the Bill Of Materials (BOM).
- Assist with part movement during engine builds, validation, and testing stages.
- Manage ETLA and tailor product/system components accordingly.
- Education: MTech or BTech in Mechanical Engineering or associated branches.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 to 12 years of experience in product design, specifically in engine component design.
- CAD Expertise: Proficiency in Pro/E Creo (version 2.0 or higher) with emphasis on casting, sheet metal, and plumbing components.
- Knowledge Areas: Understanding of product lifecycle, manufacturing processes, design for assembly, and engine component functionality.
- Preferred: MCM knowledge is desirable.
