Job Opening:

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will take end-to-end ownership of feature modules, enforce high standards for code quality, and mentor junior developers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and scale backend modules using NestJS and PostgreSQL
  • Architect and build stateless, testable, and modular APIs for Amazon Ads, SP-API, campaign manager, and catalog health
  • Lead data ingestion and cron orchestration for large-scale sync jobs
  • Define internal service boundaries and interfaces in preparation for microservices
  • Enforce best practices for code reviews, error handling, and observability
  • Collaborate on service extraction strategy to identify what to decouple, how to deploy, and how to manage communication across services
  • Support containerized deployment workflows using Docker, EC2, and SSM Parameter Store

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience
  • Proficient in NestJS, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and TypeORM
  • Experience with distributed system principles, API design, data modeling, and scalable architecture
  • Proactive in code quality, documentation, and mentoring
  • Comfortable with Docker, EC2, and SSM Parameter Store
  • Experience with microservice design patterns, message queues, service discovery, and API gateways
  • Familiarity with ETL pipelines, cron scheduling, or data sync reliability

Team Leadership & Engineering Practices:

  • Mentor SDE1s and interns to improve their technical and professional skills
  • Champion practices like explicit logging and monitoring, structured error handling and retries, type-safe and DRY API contracts, and propose tech debt cleanups and refactoring initiatives
  • Contribute to on-call readiness and help improve our alerting stack
