Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, and making informed decisions based on underwriting guidelines and financial data.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, analyzing data, and communicating complex information to stakeholders.

  • Evaluate loan applications to assess creditworthiness and risk associated with the borrower
  • Analyze financial documents, credit reports, appraisals, and property valuations to determine the risk associated with a mortgage application
  • Make informed decisions regarding loan approval, denial, or modifications based on underwriting guidelines and financial data
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines
  • Familiarity with automated underwriting systems (AUS) and underwriting software
  • Ability to manage multiple loan applications and tasks while adhering to deadlines
