Engineering Director Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Engineering Director to lead our team of software engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive results.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, developing and implementing technical strategies, and driving innovation within the company.
  • They will also be responsible for ensuring high-quality software development, testing, and deployment processes, as well as mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate should have:

  • Strong system design and architecture skills, with experience in functional or object-oriented programming and clean coding practices.
  • Expertise in common design patterns, such as SOLID principles.
  • Experience with backend technologies, including Elixir, Java, Python, Golang, Node.js, and Ruby.
  • Knowledge of database systems, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB.
  • Understanding of cloud and DevOps technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Product development methodologies, such as Agile.
  • Strong design skills, including API data contracts, OOAD, microservices, data models, and concurrency concepts.
