About the Editor Role

We are seeking an experienced editor to oversee a team of copy editors and ensure that every piece meets the highest journalistic standards.

The ideal candidate will have impeccable editing skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to craft compelling, accurate, and engaging news content. A strong command of language is essential, as well as a flair for rewriting and restructuring copy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Copy Editors Desk: Finalize editorial copy published on our English news domain.
  • Editing & Rewriting: Rigorously edit and rewrite copies to enhance clarity, coherence, and accuracy while maintaining narrative flow.
  • Writing to Visuals: Craft compelling text that complements visuals, ensuring content is engaging and aligned with the narrative of news events.
  • Contextual & Analytical Writing: Provide depth and context to news stories, ensuring they are insightful and factually sound.
  • Headlines & SEO Optimization: Write impactful headlines without compromising accuracy.
  • Editorial Oversight: Lead a team of copy editors, setting quality benchmarks for grammar, syntax, style, and factual integrity.
  • Breaking News Precision: Ensure breaking news is reported with speed, accuracy, and clarity while maintaining our editorial standards.
  • Ethical Journalism: Uphold the highest standards of reporting, eliminating factual errors or misrepresentation.
  • Collaboration with Reporters & Anchors: Work closely with digital reporters, anchors, and production teams to refine scripts and written content.
  • Fact-Checking & Verification: Cross-check all information to ensure accuracy, eliminating potential misinformation.
  • Training & Mentorship: Guide and mentor copy editors, enhancing their skills in editing, writing, and digital storytelling.
