High Performance System Administrator

In this setup, Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) are crucial in providing teams with the tools, practices, and expertise necessary to succeed in a blame-free environment.

Our mission is to enhance developers' experience by equipping them with tools to manage the entire software lifecycle and be self-sufficient.

Enhancing the developers' experience involves developing an internal Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) using cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Prometheus, Kotlin, and more.

This platform is a vital part of our engineering efforts and enables us to deliver better, faster, and more reliable solutions for our customers.

• Designing, building, hardening, and maintaining key parts of our internal platform, from Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) to developer tools aimed at increasing Research and Development productivity.
• Migrating to leading industry CICD tools like GitHub Actions.
• Automating safe deployment practices by leveraging industry-leading tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Argo Rollouts, Helm Charts, and others.
• Automating infrastructure provisioning and other engineering processes by working on automations built on top of our engineering platform written in GitHub Actions.
• Coaching and up-skilling other engineering team members.
• Solving complex technical problems and putting your skills to the test daily; seeing immediate impact and value created for other engineers.
• Automating every aspect of our infrastructure to minimize human intervention.
• Developing effective tooling, alerts, and response mechanisms to identify and address reliability risks.
• Driving and promoting protocols for production readiness and operational excellence.
• Partnering with product engineering teams to debug production outages and carry out action items to improve system reliability.
• Advocating for automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, feature toggles, and progressive rollouts.
• Planning for the growth of HireAlpha's infrastructure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of experience.
• Understanding large-scale complex systems from a reliability perspective.
• Designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD processes and tools.
• Passion for producing clean, standards-compliant, secure code.
• Applying a developer mindset to infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience building software with languages like Java, Kotlin, Scala, or other JVM-based languages.
• Experience writing scripts for automating task execution with languages like Ruby, Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Experience with at least one relational and non-relational database (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch).
• Ability to identify time-consuming manual tasks and automate them.
• Ability to identify root causes of instability in distributed systems across stacks.
• Nice-to-haves: Experience with cloud-based solutions like Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure, CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), Containers (Docker, Kubernetes), Artifact Management tools (e.g., Nexus, ECR), and Go programming language.
