Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and prototyping furniture pieces made from steel, aluminum, and other metals.

This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring innovative metal furniture concepts to life while ensuring both visual appeal and structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Development: Create innovative designs for steel furniture products such as tables, chairs, shelves, and storage units.
  • CAD Design: Prepare 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are practical and feasible for production.
  • Structural Analysis: Perform analysis to ensure durability and stability of steel furniture.
  • Material Selection: Select materials and finishes based on aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations.
  • Trend Research: Conduct research on trends in furniture design and material innovation.
  • Prototype Development: Develop prototypes for testing and modify designs based on feedback.
  • Supply Chain Management: Coordinate with suppliers for sourcing materials and components.
  • Compliance: Ensure designs meet safety standards, environmental regulations, and company specifications.
  • Cost Estimation: Assist in developing cost estimates for production, assembly, and materials.
  • Customer Feedback: Work with the marketing team to understand customer needs and incorporate feedback into designs.
Requirements
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in the steel furniture industry.
  • CAD Skills: Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Material Knowledge: Strong knowledge of material properties, particularly steel and other metals.
