Automotive Virtualization Specialist

Lead the development and virtualization of sensor and actuator models for use in simulation environments such as VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim.

  • Develop high-fidelity plant models of sensors and actuators using Simulink or equivalent tools to ensure robust, scalable, and accurate modeling of devices used in modern automotive systems.
  • Architect models for seamless integration into VHiL, HiL, SiL, and CoSim environments, defining and maintaining interface standards for model consumption across simulation platforms.
  • Collect data from physical devices to support model validation and performance characterization, analyzing diagnostic responses and performance metrics to refine model behavior.
  • Define and execute test cases based on customer feedback and evolving model requirements, ensuring model robustness by incorporating vehicle calibration variations and real-world operating conditions.
  • Manage the lifecycle of models including enhancements, release documentation, test coverage, and technical support, maintaining traceability and version control across model updates.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, hardware, controls, and diagnostics teams to gather and align requirements, balancing short-term and long-term modeling fidelity needs between in-house and supplier-based solutions.
  • Harmonize virtualization requirements across vehicle and propulsion domains, defining virtualization requirements for modeling, hardware, controls, and supplier ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities:

This role involves deep collaboration across hardware, controls, diagnostics, and supplier teams to ensure robust, scalable, and accurate modeling of devices used in modern automotive systems.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and diagnostics, with experience in HiL/SiL/CoSim environments and simulation workflows being beneficial.

A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field is required, along with 5+ years of experience in model-based development, preferably in the automotive domain.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and diagnostics
  • Experience in HiL/SiL/CoSim environments and simulation workflows
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or related field
