Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to lead our financial operations and financial activities. This role is responsible for overseeing the finance department and reporting directly to the CFO. The successful candidate will also provide assistance to the Accounting Manager with external and internal audit examinations.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the financial success of our company. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing a team of Junior Accountants and collaborating with them to create financial reports and analyze forecasts.

Responsibilities
  • Accurate Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial information with the help of inputs from the finance team on time.
  • Accounting Integrity: Ensure the integrity of accounting information by verifying, allocating, posting, and entering transactions.
  • Error-Free Reports: Prepare error-free accounting reports and their results.
  • Account Reconciliation: Conduct account reconciliation regularly on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze the financial statements for any discrepancies and issues.
  • Error Identification: Identify errors and take actions for improvement.
  • Transaction Analysis: Analyze intercompany transactions, bank statements, and generate invoices.
  • System Improvement: Review accounting systems and make suggestions for improvements.
  • Team Management: Manage bookkeepers and other accountants.
  • Goal Setting: Assist in the department's goal-setting process.
  • Year-End Closing: Provide support in the month-end and year-end closing process.
  • Tax Support: Provide support in tax returns and tax audit.
  • Duty Assignment: Plan and assign duties to staff members.
  • General Ledger: Manage and maintain general ledgers.
  • Accounts Payable: Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
  • Financial Procedures: Develop financial procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Transaction Reports: Prepare and summarize all transaction reports and financial status, including a balance sheet and profit & loss statement.
  • Financial Presentations: Present financial reports to high-level management and accountants.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with the latest business trends.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience working as a Senior Accountant or Accounting Supervisor.
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will be preferred.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Software Skills: Understanding of accounting software like QuickBooks, Tally ERP, etc.
  • Excel Skills: Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Quantitative Skills: Strong aptitude for quantitative skills and numbers.
  • Tax Knowledge: Strong knowledge of non-profit tax filing and tax compliance pertaining to state and federal level regulations.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multitasking: Ability to multitask and internal controls.
  • Analysis: Excellent at analyzing information and interpreting for other departments.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data.
  • Work Ethic: Hardworking and honest.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and accuracy.
