**Job Title:** Infrastructure Protection Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing management of our edge network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

**Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the maintenance of our Akamai edge setup, including CDN and WAF configuration.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting traffic flow to AWS/on-prem origins.
  • Develop rules to block API threats, such as bad JWTs or injections.
  • Configure logging with Fluentd or Logstash to Elasticsearch.
  • Send metrics to CloudWatch (AWS) or Prometheus (on-prem).
  • Design dashboards and alerts for latency, errors, and attacks.
**Deliverables:
  • Implement a perpetually-available AWS-based Envoy gateway for routing traffic from Akamai.
  • Achieve WAF blocking rates of 95%+ in test scenarios.
  • Establish dashboards showing real-time gateway and origin health.
**Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent technical degree with strong computer science fundamentals.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
**Technical Skills:
  • Edge networks experience (Akamai), Envoy, or nginx.
  • WAF expertise (any flavor).
  • Familiarity with two or more: Fluentd, Logstash, CloudWatch, Elasticsearch.
**Additional Requirements:
  • Clear articulation of technical concepts to various audiences.
  • Collaboration with engineering, operations, and business teams.
