About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled technical professional to join our technology team. As a High Availability Systems Specialist, you will play a critical operational role in developing and maintaining distributed systems that serve key stakeholders in our global business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize the operations of existing systems and infrastructure through automation and tooling, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Build out foundational technical components of a robust system program across multiple complex systems, both new and existing.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure changes align with measurable service level objectives (SLOs) across user interactions.
- Monitor system capacity and performance, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks and sources of instability before they affect stakeholders.
- Review and provide feedback on automation code developed by peers, maintaining high standards of code quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, analyzing their impact on infrastructure and service operations.
- Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders, evaluating and selecting the best technologies and strategies for our needs.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role.
- Strong coding skills in Python and PowerShell; ability to comprehend C# and develop basic applications.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, cloud-based services and infrastructure (AWS), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Configuration Management (Ansible).
- Experience with container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and ECS.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of ownership.
- Commitment to the highest ethical standards.
