Merchandiser Role

A Merchandiser plays a vital part in overseeing the merchandising process for woven garments from start to finish.

The role involves coordinating with buyers, suppliers, and production teams to deliver products that meet buyer specifications, quality standards, and timelines.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop seasonal collections in collaboration with designers as per customer requirements.
  • Manage sample development, price negotiation, and order confirmation with buyers.
  • Process material orders within tight deadlines while optimizing budget and costs.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail, work independently, and adapt to changing environments and challenges.
  • Effectively handle small and high-value businesses.
  • Possess strong communication skills and maintain clear interactions with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of woven garment manufacturing, including categories like shirts, jackets, and bottoms.
  • Lead teams effectively.
  • Show high levels of ownership and commitment to achieve results-driven outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Textiles, Apparel Merchandising, or Fashion Technology.
  • 1-8 years of experience as a Merchandiser in a woven garment factory (buyer handling experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of woven fabrics, garment construction, costing, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/MIS systems.
  • Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and meet strict deadlines.
Requirements
