Job Title: Senior Enterprise Software Manager

Description: As a Senior Enterprise Software Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of GitLab within our organization. This includes assessing current infrastructure, determining requirements, and collaborating with teams to understand enterprise architecture and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing current infrastructure and determining requirements for implementing GitLab.
  • Collaborating with teams to understand enterprise architecture and security standards.
  • Installing, configuring, and managing GitLab servers.
  • Leveraging Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code tools to set up required infrastructure.
  • Integrating GitLab with existing tools and services.
  • Configuring security settings and access controls for GitLab.
  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
  • Providing training and support for team members and engineers on using GitLab effectively.
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting issues with GitLab infrastructure.
  • Implementing best practices for version control, code review, and collaboration using GitLab.
  • Working closely with development teams to ensure successful adoption of GitLab.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for GitLab setup and usage within the enterprise.
  • Recommending best practices around Microsoft Azure, GitLab.
  • Implementing scripts and routines to automate tasks.
  • Provisioning and orchestrating container workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm charts.
  • Managing instances as required.
  • Performing troubleshooting of infrastructure issues.
  • Collaborating with the team to tackle tasks based on priority and requirements.
  • Enabling advanced security features.
  • Creating security policies on GitLab reflecting departmental policies.
  • Configuring backups and creating disaster recovery plans.
  • Implementing Single Sign On authentication and email delivery capabilities.
  • Migrating data from previous GitLab instance to a new one.
  • Implementing deployment pipelines with incremental delivery capabilities.
  • Installing advanced search capabilities on GitLab.
  • Setting up monitoring and alerting for the platform.
  • Performing security hardening of the GitLab instance.
  • Configuring data retention policies for GitLab.
  • Creating SOPs regarding OS and GitLab instance patching.
  • Contributing to deployment operations, ensuring artefacts have been deployed successfully and all required documentation has been stored.
  • Setting up encryption of databases and software artefacts.
  • Creating webhooks which perform administrative tasks.
  • Setting up required GitLab Runner infrastructure and automated scaling.
  • Contributing and participating in all DevOps initiatives within the organization.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and security standards.
  • Experience with GitLab and Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
