About this Position:

The Senior Underwriter is a critical role in our organization responsible for reviewing mortgage files, calculating income and debt, analyzing assets, and conducting thorough appraisals.

Additional responsibilities include accurate data entry into loan operating systems and utilizing automated underwriting systems to determine approval and clearance conditions.

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of mortgage loan files including income, assets, credit, and collateral
  • Utilize loan operating systems to ensure precise data entry
  • Underwrite loans according to established guidelines, utilizing AUS or manual guidelines as needed
  • Evaluate the completeness and accuracy of loan documents, ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Identify and clear red flags or alerts as necessary
  • Issue final loan decisions and condition files accordingly
  • Review and approve conditions for completion and compliance of loan files
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients
  • Maintain current knowledge of client and investor requirements
  • Resolve pre- and post-closing issues related to underwriting
  • Assist Processors/Loan Officers in understanding underwriting decisions and conditions

Qualifications:
