Backend Software Engineer

Nova is a pioneering force in AI development, working tirelessly to empower businesses and free teams from repetitive tasks. We focus on creating automation solutions for reconciliations, contract reviews, and compliance tracking.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement backend systems as the foundation for Nova's AI teammates.
  • Develop APIs and services that are functional, performant, resilient, and built to handle massive scale.
  • Collaborate with Node.js/TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Memcached technologies.
  • Drive API architecture for high-scale use cases and build robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure observability and reliability through metrics, tracing, logging, and proactive alerting.
  • Work closely with ML and frontend teams to expose backend capabilities cleanly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical mentorship to Product Engineer I/II teammates.

Requirements
  • 4–6 years of experience designing APIs for scale.
  • Deep expertise in Node.js + TypeScript and strong grasp of async patterns and modern frameworks.
  • Solid experience with PostgreSQL and at least one caching system.
  • Familiarity with queuing/streaming platforms.
  • Bonus: experience with Python, especially for ML-related integrations.
