Lead Data Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer to join our team. This is a senior technical role with high expectations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who ensures efficiency in their own work while also helping the wider team become more productive and technically stronger.

Main Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Utilize Azure and Databricks to create efficient data pipelines.
  • Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs) Management: Implement CI/CD and environment management using DABs.
  • Scalable ELT/ETL Workflows Creation: Leverage Databricks, Delta Lake, ADF, and other Azure services to build scalable workflows.
  • New Databricks Feature Adoption: Continuously adopt new features to accelerate delivery.
  • Code Optimization for Performance and Scalability: Improve Spark, SQL, and Python code for better performance and scalability.
  • Mentorship and Team Collaboration: Share knowledge and skills with the team to improve overall productivity and technical capability.
  • Meeting Expectations in a Fast-Paced Environment: Meet quick turnaround expectations in a dynamic environment.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering with 5+ years of hands-on experience in Azure & Databricks.
  • Strong Expertise in:
  • Databricks (Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, Workflows, Databricks Asset Bundles, MLflow basics, unity catalog)
  • Azure Data Services (ADF, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL)
  • Python, SQL, Spark (with proven performance optimization skills)
  • Strong knowledge of modern data architectures (Lakehouse, governance)
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with AI-driven development tools (e.g., Cursor.ai, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate coding and improve productivity.
  • Exposure to Generative AI in Databricks (LLMOps, Model Serving, MosaicML, vector search).
