Senior Java Developer Opportunity

The primary objective of this role is to lead the application modernization and migration projects from IBM WebSphere to open-source Java stacks deployed on Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in migrating Java/JEE applications to Spring Boot or Jakarta EE, ensuring seamless transition with minimal downtime.
  • Refactor legacy codebases to be compatible with microservices and containerized environments, utilizing Docker and Helm for efficient deployment.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain applications on Kubernetes using CI/CD pipelines, optimizing performance and reliability in a containerized setup.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Cloud, and QA, to ensure smooth integration and deployment.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and technical discussions to ensure best practices are followed.

We require:

  • 3+ years of Java/JEE development experience, with a strong understanding of IBM WebSphere application server.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot or Jakarta EE, proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes, and experience with RESTful APIs, Maven/Gradle, and Git.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitLab, as well as experience in application modernization/migration projects.
  • Knowledge of Helm, Prometheus, and Grafana, with exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Understanding of 12-factor app principles and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
