Job Title: Unix Systems Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Unix systems support specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unix systems administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide level 2 or level 3 support for Unix systems in a mission-critical banking environment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including PCI DSS and local banking regulator requirements.
  • Operate under ITIL processes and maintain high availability, performance, and security of Unix systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents and manage approved platform changes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring incidents and implement permanent fixes.
  • Tune configurations and schedule jobs to enhance performance and reliability.
  • Coordinate with vendors and validate post-change health.
  • Demonstrate strong documentation and communication skills.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in Unix systems administration (level 2) or 10+ years of experience (level 3).
  • Strong knowledge of Unix systems, including AIX, Power, HMC, and VIOS.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and industry-standard tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
