The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Prepare tax compliance documents, including personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns.
- Apply provisions of US tax treaties to cross-border tax transactions.
- Assist with sales tax filings and registrations.
- Collaborate closely with partners and senior staff to develop and implement effective strategies and client tax planning assignments.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in preparing/reviewing 1040 personal income tax returns and 1120 corporate income tax returns.
- Public accounting experience (preferably in tax).
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients.
- Ability to complete engagement with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a Master's of Commerce is considered an asset.
- Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset.
