Seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead data engineering initiatives, leveraging expertise in Big Data platforms and cloud-native environments.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will direct a team of talented data engineers, guiding them in designing and delivering scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms that prioritize high performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers working on large-scale distributed systems, fostering growth and development.
  • Architect and oversee end-to-end data solutions using Azure Data Services and Databricks, ensuring seamless integration and delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop impactful data products, driving business value and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Establish best practices in data engineering, promoting coding standards, version control, CI/CD, and monitoring to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure high-quality data, adhering to governance and compliance regulations, while optimizing performance and cost efficiency of data infrastructure.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to improve system architecture and team capabilities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software/data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Big Data ecosystems (Spark, Hive, Hadoop)
  • Azure Cloud Services (Data Lake, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Blob Storage)
  • Databricks (including Delta Lake, MLFlow, Unity Catalog)
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and performance tuning.
  • Experience managing Agile teams and delivering complex projects on time.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
