Interior Designer Job Description

Our team is seeking a skilled Interior Designer to join our dynamic design team.

This role will involve collaborating with the lead designer, accompanying them on client meetings, and taking detailed notes during these interactions. You will also be responsible for creating CAD drawings for client projects, researching décor and materials, providing pricing and availability information, placing orders, purchasing materials, picking up and delivering them, and submitting receipts for all purchases and orders.

You will need to track and communicate the status of orders, resolve problems that may arise, maintain spreadsheets with client selections/finish materials, schedule appointments for designers, contractors, clients, and vendors, respond to client questions and concerns, project updates, meet with vendors, assist with installations, and submit detailed hours (billable and non-billable) and mileage log monthly.

We are looking for someone who can provide excellent support to our lead designer and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support for lead designer
  2. Accompany and assist lead designer during client meetings at job sites and showrooms
  3. Take detailed notes during meetings, take measurements/photos of projects
  4. Create CAD drawings for client projects
  5. Research décor and materials; provide pricing, availability, stock, etc.,
  6. Place orders, purchase materials, pick up and deliver
  7. Submit receipts for all purchases and orders
  8. Track and communicate status of orders; resolve problems
  9. Maintain spreadsheets with client selections/finish materials
  10. Schedule for the designer, contractors, clients, vendors
  11. Respond to client questions and concerns; project updates
  12. Meet vendors, assist with installations
  13. Submit detailed hours (billable and non-billable) and mileage log monthly

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in interior design or a related field
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in CAD software and other design tools
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
