Job Description:

As a Lead Electrical Systems Designer, you will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems for vehicles.

This role involves packaging high-voltage cables, busbars, and their layout along with plastic carriers required for HV and LV battery packs. You will also be responsible for updating harness routing and busbar designs based on repackaging of interface components in coordination with system integration engineering teams.

You will work closely with systems engineers to ensure implementation of design changes during program development, prototype, and production build phases according to project timelines.

Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential in this role as you will carry out stack-up analysis on designed components, develop harness/busbar/cell packaging, and identify issues for resolution prior to validation builds.

You will create test cases, design rules, or requirements as needed and participate in benchmarking and concept development activities.

In addition, you will support the development of parts in-house or at supplier end, participate in supplier PPAP activities, and conduct periodic audits of suppliers to improve quality and process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with HV battery packs, cells, and modules, and hands-on experience with designing and developing EDS HV harnesses and busbars, BMS, and GD&T. Excellent communication skills, knowledge of tooling feasibility, raw materials, and familiarity with full design life cycles are also essential.
