**Job Title:** Network Engineer – Operations Consultant

Job Description:

Our team is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Network Engineer – Operations Consultant to oversee and optimize our network infrastructure operations. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day network operations, ensuring high availability and reliability, and implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime.

Key responsibilities include monitoring network performance, managing network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and performing root cause analysis of critical outages. You will also handle escalated incidents and service requests related to network connectivity, routing, switching, and security. Additionally, you will collaborate with vendors and ISPs to resolve issues and ensure SLA compliance.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have expert knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, HSRP, STP, VLAN, QoS. Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls and routers is also required. Experience with network monitoring tools, including SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark, and proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs, SD-WAN, and Cloud Networking, AWS Azure are essential skills.

You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to drive network automation and scripting using Python, Ansible for routine tasks and monitoring. A strong understanding of information security principles and standards, ISO 27001, NIST, etc. is also desirable. If you have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and preferred certifications include Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent, we would like to hear from you

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Expert knowledge of networking protocols
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto firewalls and routers
  • Experience with network monitoring tools
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VPNs, SD-WAN, and Cloud Networking, AWS Azure
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow
  • Strong scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or Ansible
  • Understanding of information security principles and standards
  • Certified in CCNP or equivalent
