Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Platform Engineering Observability team as a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist.

In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure, as well as managing self-hosted and on-premises assets. As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and reliable.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of backup, high-availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and monitor automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises resources.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and implement improvements to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance standards to safeguard cloud environments.
  • Administer company SaaS platforms to enhance user productivity, focusing on tools like Okta and AWS Workspaces.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and support application deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior cloud engineers and other team members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud solutions.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Proven hands-on experience supporting the Okta SSO Platform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Data Dog, Orion, Nagios, and WhatsUp Gold.
