Fabric Sourcing Manager

Job Role Summary:

  • Lead and manage fabric procurement for captive factories, specializing in T-shirts and other knitwear products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Fabric Sourcing & Procurement
  • Find, evaluate, and onboard fabric suppliers for knits and T-shirts, ensuring optimal pricing and timely deliveries.
  • Negotiate payment terms and lead times to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Develop strong relationships with mills and fabric suppliers for long-term partnerships.
2. Cost Management
  • Work on strategies to reduce costs without compromising fabric quality, analyzing price trends to stay competitive in the market.
  • Track and analyze fabric price trends to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Manage supplier contracts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
3. Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all fabrics meet required quality standards and buyer specifications, working closely with the quality team to conduct fabric testing and approvals.
  • Address and resolve any fabric-related issues during production, maintaining a high level of quality control.
4. Inventory & Logistics Management
  • Monitor fabric stock levels to ensure optimal inventory management, working with production and merchandising teams to ensure just-in-time fabric delivery.
  • Oversee logistics and import/export documentation when required, ensuring seamless supply chain operations.
5. Vendor Development
  • Identify new fabric trends, sustainable materials, and innovative suppliers, staying updated on industry advancements in textile technology.
  • Work with mills on fabric developments to align with fashion trends and buyer needs, driving innovation in the sourcing process.

Requirements:

  • 8-12 years of experience in fabric sourcing, preferably in knits and T-shirts.
  • Strong network of fabric suppliers and mills.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Textile Technology, Apparel Production, or a related field.
