Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage Cloudflare WAF rules, page shields, and threat intelligence filters to ensure robust security for web applications.
  • Tune policies to minimize false positives and maximize protection against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Monitor web traffic anomalies, bot activity, and take proactive measures to prevent potential threats.
  • Integrate WAF alerts with central SIEM/SOC systems for real-time visibility into security events.
  • Collaborate with application development teams to validate WAF configurations before production deployment.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot WAF blocks, performance issues, and content caching anomalies to ensure optimal security performance.
  • Maintain access control, rate limiting, and geo-restriction rules to safeguard against unauthorized access.
  • Develop reports for stakeholders and participate in threat modeling exercises to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Assist senior team members in rule set upgrades, custom signatures, and API security enhancements to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of hands-on experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent solutions (e.g., Akamai, AWS WAF).
  • In-depth understanding of web protocols, application headers, and Transport Layer Security (TLS).
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and application security standards.

Certifications & Training:

  • Cloudflare Certified WAF Practitioner (if available).
  • CompTIA Security+ or GIAC Web Application Defender (GWEB) certification preferred.
  • OWASP Top 10 – mastery desired.
