Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of database administration and be able to provide support for all aspects of our infrastructure.

The Database Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, data security, and reliability of our database infrastructure. This includes software installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL server instances, implementing and managing high availability solutions, and supporting development, QA, PSE, and production environments.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how databases fit into systems and how application changes will influence database performance. They will also be able to work independently with minimal guidance and directions.

  • Database Administration: Ensure optimal performance, data security, and reliability of our database infrastructure.
  • Software Installation: Install, configure, and maintain SQL server instances (on-prem and cloud-based).
  • High Availability: Implement and manage high availability solutions including Always ON availability groups and clustering.
  • Support: Support development, QA, PSE, and production environments using ServiceNow ticketing system.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive Knowledge: Strong knowledge of MSSQL Server, Aurora PostgreSQL, Oracle, Python, and Angular.
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator (2016 or later) and L2/L3 Engineer in managing large-scale MSSQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL environments.
  • Strong Performance Tuning: Strong performance tuning and optimization skills in MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and maintain database replication and clustering solutions.
  • Perform database backup and recovery strategy using tools like SQL server backup, log shipping, and other technologies.
  • Provide 3rd-level support for DTCC critical production environments.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for database issues.
  • Maintain documentation on database configurations and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the architecture, design, maintenance, and L1, L2, and L3 level support of a 7 x 24 global infrastructure.
