Senior Data Engineer - Data Modeler

As a seasoned data engineer and modeler, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing next-generation data platforms. Your expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling will be instrumental in creating data mapping documents, writing functional specifications, and crafting ER diagrams using industry-standard tools.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Data extraction, analysis, cleansing, mapping, and profiling exercises using Informatica Analyst and other profiling tools
  • Designing and implementing highly scalable data capture and transformation processes
  • Suggesting best modeling approaches to clients based on their requirements and target architectures
  • Analyzing and understanding datasets to guide teams in creating source-to-target mappings and data dictionaries
  • Profiling data sets to generate relevant insights
  • Defining data modeling best practices and ensuring their implementation across projects
  • Optimizing data models and working with data engineers to define ingestion logic, ingestion frequency, and data consumption patterns

You will have the opportunity to work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, process large datasets from multiple sources, operate effectively and independently in a dynamic environment, apply agile methodology, lead large teams, and drive projects to completion.

Key qualifications include:

  • 10+ years of experience with hybrid data environments
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and architecture
  • Good experience in OLTP and OLAP systems
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Good understanding of one or more ETL tools and data ingestion frameworks
  • Experience as a designer of complex dimensional data models for analytics services
  • Understanding of data quality and governance
  • Experience in leading large teams
  • Experience with processing large datasets
