About our cybersecurity team

We have opened positions for a range of experience levels in cybersecurity defense and attack.

  • Our goal is to build robustness into the open source supply chain and monitor our own estate while contributing to the global Ubuntu community.

The Security Operations (SecOps) team designs, implements and evolves security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies. They are responsible for assuring the security and integrity of infrastructure and product deployments, identifying threats and containing them.

The SecOps team's mission is not only to secure our systems but also to contribute to the wider open source ecosystem through knowledge sharing and threat intelligence.

What you will do in this role:

  1. Evaluate and implement new security standards and playbooks
  2. Analyse and improve security architecture
  3. Select and implement new security tools and practices
  4. Identify and guide remediation of security threats
  5. Contribute to open source initiatives and drive security practices across Engineering, IS and company teams
  6. Develop learning and development materials
  7. Publish blog posts, whitepapers and conference presentations
  8. Identify and track KPIs

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Expertise in threat modelling and risk management frameworks
  • Knowledge of security architecture and market-leading security tools
  • Experience with security standards such as ISO 27001
  • Drive and personal motivation to be at the forefront of technology security
