GIS Data Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS data specialist to support our organization's decision-making processes.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geospatial data. This includes searching, collecting, processing, and managing large datasets, including GIS data, satellite imagery, and other spatial data sources.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4+ Years of experience in a data specialist role
  • Knowledge of image analysis techniques such as band combinations, pixel depth, and image strip artifacts removal
  • ETL operations between GIS applications/database using Esri Desktop or Server
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise, Image Analyst Extension, and Data Reviewer Extension

Responsibilities:

  • Data collection and management: validate and ensure the accuracy, quality, and completeness of spatial data
  • Conduct spatial analysis, map creation, and geospatial model development to aid various projects and initiatives
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through quality checks and resolution of data discrepancies using ArcGIS Data Reviewer
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including project managers, analysts, and external partners, to comprehend data requirements
