Key Data Engineering Leadership Role

As a seasoned Lead Data Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in shaping our data engineering landscape.

Technical Expertise and Deliverables:
  • Technical Vision & Execution: Drive technical strategy, oversee delivery of complex data pipelines and infrastructure projects, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Architecture & Direction: Collaborate to define optimal architectures, guide cost/performance trade-offs, and implement reliability patterns for scalable data systems.
  • Data Pipelines & Orchestration: Design, build, and maintain reliable batch and change-driven data pipelines, schedule jobs, handle schema evolution, and implement fail-safes.
  • Transformations & Modeling: Develop clean, tested merge/transformation pipelines, create models for seamless consumption by products and analytics, and optimize SQL performance.
  • APIs & Integration: Craft or collaborate on APIs for data access/updates, define request/response contracts, and manage authentication (OAuth2/OIDC/JWT), idempotency, validation, and auditing.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Utilize Terraform to provision/manage cloud resources, automate builds/tests/deployments with CI/CD, and write effective shell scripts for operational tasks.
  • Observability & Reliability: Instrument logs/metrics/traces, set SLOs, and lead incident reviews to drive root-cause prevention.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement least-privilege access, secrets management, and encryption for secure data handling.
  • Quality & Standards: Champion unit/integration/data-quality tests (including SQL) and enforce code health through reviews, linters, and CI checks.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Foster async-first collaboration, produce concise documentation, and partner closely with product/engineering/analytics teams.
